If I could leave a 0 star review I would. 1 star is very generous in my opinion. This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a ski shop. I have been skiing for 25 years and couldn't believe how unhelpful, relatively rude, inexperienced and disengaged the staff was. They run you through the rental process as quickly as possible and do not care (or seem to know) if your equipment actually fits properly. This unfortunately landed one of the four in our group in the ER after a fall because her boots were at least a size too big. Another one of our folks had to swap boots out that were too big, and our fourth had to swap polls because they were about 2 sizes too short. There is a reason they are one of the cheapest in town. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Spend the extra money at another shop that knows what they are doing or spend the extra money on medical bills when your improper equipment lands you in the med clinic. I'm not one to usually write bad reviews, but I don't want to see anyone else hurt because of this shop's incompetence.

Repeat renter (6 times). Super friendly staff. Ski collection is good and in good condition. We replaced 2 pairs because we wanted to try different sizes and different types of skis (from usual choices to something more playful and bouncy). The staff were super accommodating to get this done. Service is always quick, especially the returns. For the price and location, you cannot do better than this.

Extremely upset considering that I booked with them due to the good reviews I’ve read. After renting from them I had a ski accident (not blaming them) but we had to return the equipment day earlier. Prior to finalizing the rentals, I asked what would happen if we decided not to ski the second day and the employee guaranteed that I would get a full refund. When I called to make to sure the refund was actually processed since I was hospitalized and couldn’t take the rentals myself, the first guy told me I’m calling back too soon and told me to wait 3-5 days without even looking into my reservation. A week later no refund and finally got someone helpful that stated there was never a refund processed (which they should’ve known to do so since the reservation said 2 days and it was returned right after the first day) I then received an email that a ridiculous amount is being refunded after I paid way more. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt so I call the shop and was told they were too busy and I have to call back later. The guy didn’t bother to hear me out, he just hung up. Ridiculous that I have to play phone tag from another state just to get my money back after following their own damn protocols! Hanging up on me just did it and I’ll be sure we never book through here again.

The associates we worked with getting our rentals fitted were all very friendly, helpful and had a calm demeanor. When we were unsure about the width of the cross country skis they had picked out they quickly heard our concerns and swapped them for exactly what we had in mind. Would rent here again!

The people at Blue River are so awesome! We've rented from them the last 3 times we've been in Breckenridge. They know their stuff, they're professional, and everyone is friendly. When we've needed to add a day or tweak our rentals, they're great to help us. We highly recommend!

Had a wonderful experience. I expect good prices, service, ext... but BR went out of their way to help me with an issue I had with someone in our family having altitude sickness, that turned into a migraine. Katie S. who I think was a manager, went out of her way to reassure me they would not charge me for the reservation and if that person got better, they would have skis on standby because they would save the current reservation and just charge me for the days used.

We never did get skis and true to her word they refunded the deposit. I could not be happier with the whole experience
