Love love love this store and Rodney in particular (as I shop there for the rare vinyl treats) I have both purchased records there and sold some as well and always had a pleasant experience. Rodney is super knowledgeable and always generous with his time. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something special. Picked up a Parliament LIVE LP from 1978 and it still had the poster inside! Keep up the good work!

Some great designer gems here if you're willing to dig – hence the 3 stars. Otherwise, it's your standard overpriced LA "curated" boutique with staff that hovers over you. The owner was very cold and visibly bothered that we had to take him away from a conversation with his friends to check out when his employee was helping someone with a fitting room. Maybe we just went on an off day, but I'd pass on this one. Much better customer service (and prices) to be found elsewhere in the neighborhood.

I really like this shop. The owner is friendly, but not up in your face when you're trying to crate dig. I have gotten some amazing finds there, everything from Kraut rock rarities, to underground reggae, and old post punk stuff. There is also a nice selection of music memorabilia, and a ton of cool vintage clothes and t-shirts. highly recommended.

Avalon Vintage is a wonderful store with a great selection of clothes and records, and it’s proprietor Rodney is a great guy! Someone recently posted that they thought he was being rude by ignoring them, but the fact is he is deaf in one ear and the other one is going too. It’s an easy mistake to make, but does not reflect who he is or what he’s about. I hope that person reads his response because it was a misunderstanding that can easily be ironed out.

Being a Highland Park native living in the area since 1974 and a Mexican girl, I was skeptical of all the new local businesses that had opened up in the last few years but Jen at Book Show LA (on Fig near Ave 55) promised me I would love Avalon Vintage. My teenage son and I ventured in there the same night and were floored at the amazing items he had for sale. Rodney greeted us with a brief hello and gave us plenty of room to just rumage through all the records and clothing. I told my husband about the new store and later brought him back, being a music aficionado himself, he was also amazed at the stuff that is for sale there. My husband mentioned how resonable the prices were for the quality finds housed there. Rodney has been nothing but welcoming and kind to us from day 1. We are definitely happy and satisfied brown folk customers of Avalon Vintage.

Avalon Vintage, wow, what a treat! I wish we had such a cool store in Fort Worth. I was overwhelmed at the quality and quantity of vintage pieces from every era. The owner is very cool and knowledgeable too. I will be back next time I am in LA.
